Minca: a quiet town nestled in the mountains about 45 minutes from Santa Marta. It is a great place for a day trip to swim in the waterfalls, visit a coffee farm, or to just hike around.
Quebrada Valencia: It is a waterfall in the middle of the jungle with step-like pools climbing up some 100 meters. After a nice jungle walk you can climb all the way to the top if it has not rained.
Aracataca: Welcome to Macondo. Anyone who has read Gabriel García Márquez’s masterpiece, One Hundred Years of Solitude, will feel they have stepped into the birthplace of magic realism as they walk or cycle the streets.
Sal si Puedes (Dibulla). This private house on the beach is ideal for couples or a small group. It is located in the small village of Dibulla, La Guajira, 2.5 hours west of Santa Marta. Dibulla is a destination untouched by tourism, so come prepared to be local!
